Brenmoor wristbands

Brenmoor Ltd, a UK based provider of patient identification solutions, have announced that one of their printed hospital wristbands is applied to a patient somewhere in the world on average every 4 seconds.
Brenmoor currently supply over 70% of UK hospitals with printed wristbands and have recently formed partnerships with medical companies in the Middle East and North Africa to help roll out Brenmoor products throughout the region.
The Brenmoor wristband solution was designed to ensure that the right patient receives the right treatment and prevent deaths and injuries from misidentification. The wristbands can be printed straight from a hospital Patient Administration System (PAS) or software is available for the information to be input manually. The wristbands can also be supplied with an RFID tag embedded onto the band.
The printed and bar-coded wristbands enable hospital staff to verify a correct match between the patient and the treatment being provided and are designed to replace the traditional hand written wristbands. Brenmoor’s Fast100 wristbands use standard direct thermal transfer printers and are under continual development along with other complimentary products such as their new blood tag. Brenmoor’s innovative technology guarantees that the wristbands, which store critical patient information are resistant to alcohol, body fluids and other contaminants and remain legible to both the human eye and electronic readers.

“Brenmoor is committed to helping reduce identification errors in the healthcare industry and our products will continue to be developed to meet the needs of both the hospital and the patient,” said Paul Brennan, a director of Brenmoor. “It’s staggering to think that one of our wristbands is used every 4 seconds, we will never know how many lives that they may have helped to save.”
